Reno Balloon Race
Hot Air Balloons
The Great Reno Balloon Race is the world’s largest free hot-air ballooning event. Over the course of three days in early September every year, approximately 100 balloons take to the Reno skies at dawn and soar over the Truckee Meadows in the early morning hours. After more than 30 years, this Reno tradition is a beloved family-friendly event.
You will have to get here early to watch Glow Show and Dawn Patrol beginning at 5:00am on Saturday and Sunday. Mass Ascension begins at 6:45am where close to 100 balloons rise to the sky, each unique and wonderfully beautiful.
Enjoy Balloon Boulevard (crafts, souvenirs, and food), tethered rides and the E.L. Cord Tissue Paper Balloon Launch. It’s fun for the whole family at Rancho San Rafael Park.
