RENO, Nev. (Nov. 29, 2021) – Mexican pop tribute group Matute will bring their Planeta Retro Tour to Grand Sierra Resort and Casino (GSR) on Thursday, Feb. 10, 2022. The sextet will perform bilingual versions of iconic English- and Spanish-speaking ‘80s pop hits at Reno’s acclaimed Grand Theatre at 8 p.m.
Tickets for Matute at GSR go on sale Friday, Dec. 3 at 10 a.m. and start at $35, plus additional taxes and fees. Infinity Rewards members will have access to presale beginning Thursday, Dec. 2 from 10 a.m. PT through 10 p.m. PT. Formed in 2007, Matute is led by singer and producer Jorge D'Alessio, son of actors Lupita D'Alessio and Jorge Vargas. Conceived as a group to pay tribute to the music of the '80s from both English- and Spanish-speaking acts, their repertoire consists of bilingual versions of hits from the era, often in medley format. D'Alessio created the group after coordinating sponsored musical tours for a major refreshment company, where he met many musicians and singers.
