RENO, Nev. (July 14, 2021) –During the first week of August, Grand Sierra Resort and Casino (GSR) is proud to participate in Hot August Nights as an official event venue for the annual week-long car show. Hot August Nights will host show-n-shine competitions along with outdoor entertainment performances at Reno’s largest resort, while GSR will run festival-themed slot tournaments and performances from renowned musicians inside the Grand Theatre.
SHOW-N-SHINES
$10,000 Classic Cherry Show-n-Shine
Beginning Tuesday, Aug. 3 through Saturday, Aug. 7 participants from all over the United States will fill the GSR parking lot with wistful and beloved cars from the past. Contestants will show off their vintage vehicles for a chance at daily prizes from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The daily “Best of Show” winner receives $500 and four runners up will win $250. On Saturday, judges will select the “Grand Overall Best of Show” who will take home $4,000.

Grand Theatre
During the last weekend in July, the Grand Theatre at GSR will host musical performances including:
- Friday, July 30
- BANDA MS DE SERGIO LIZÁRRAGA, 8 p.m. (tickets begin at $49, plus additional taxes and fees)
- Saturday, July 31
- Gladys Knight, 8 p.m. (tickets begin at $35, plus additional taxes and fees)
The Garage
Beginning Wednesday, Aug. 4 through Saturday, Aug. 7, guests can enjoy the ultimate Hot August Nights experience at The Garage from 4:30 pm. to 9:30 p.m.
Live Entertainment on The Outdoor Stage
DJ Steve West spins daily from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the Outdoor Stage. Nighttime performances include:

- Long Time – A Tribute to the band Boston, 8:15 p.m.
- Wednesday, Aug. 4
- The Australian Bee Gees Show – A Tribute to the Bee Geesl 8:15 p.m.

Hot August Nights participant registration takes place daily inside the Silver State Pavilion. Locals can register as early as Noon on Monday, August 2.
