RENO, Nev. (July 29, 2024) – Grand Sierra Resort and Casino (GSR) is the epicenter of sizzling Hot August Nights action. The festivities kick-off with a special Nevadans-only car registration on Monday, Aug. 5. From Tuesday, Aug. 6 through Saturday, Aug. 10, events will be running in high gear with show-n-shine judging and awards, incredible dining and the area’s best nightlife and live entertainment.
$10,000 Classic Cherry Show-n-Shine
In true Hot August Nights fashion, participants from all over the United States will showcase their vintage vehicles at GSR for a chance to win coveted awards. Judging will take place Tuesday, Aug. 6 through Friday, Aug. 9 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Lot 2. The daily “Best of Show” winner receives $500, and four runners up will win $250. The “Grand Overall Best of Show Awards” will take place on Saturday, Aug. 10 at 7 p.m. on the outdoor stage. The grand prize winner will take home $4,000.
DJ Dance Party at Crystal Lounge
The area’s hottest DJs will be spinning hits from Tuesday, Aug. 6 to Saturday, Aug. 10 in the elegant Crystal Lounge. Each day, the party will kick off at 9 p.m. and run until 1 a.m. Admission is free.
Chickie’s & Pete’s Crab House & Sports Bar
Featuring a spacious outdoor patio with grand views as well as a lineup of free live entertainment, Chickie’s & Pete’s is the perfect pit stop to refuel and unwind during Hot August Nights at GSR. In addition to the world-famous Crabfries, the menu features signature seafood creations as well as Philly Cheesesteak Nachos, Chickie’s Wings and a lineup of juicy burgers. With over 50 high-definition screens, four video walls and 24 beers on tap, there’s something for everyone to enjoy at this hotspot. Chickie’s & Pete’s will be open daily during Hot August Nights. Plus, enjoy special breakfast offerings on Friday, Aug. 9 and Saturday, Aug. 10 starting at 9 a.m.
