The Used and Taking Back Sunday to Perform at Grand Sierra Resort and Casino, Tuesday, Oct. 15

RENO, Nev. (July 16, 2024) – Two iconic alternative rock bands — The Used and Taking Back Sunday – will be joined by support act Raue for a performance at Grand Sierra Resort’s (GSR) acclaimed Grand Theatre on Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2024 at 7 p.m.

Tickets for The Used and Taking Back Sunday at GSR go on sale Friday, July 19 at 10 a.m. PT and start at $59.50, plus additional taxes and fees. Infinity Rewards members will have access to presale beginning Thursday, July 18 from 10 a.m. PT through 10 p.m. PT. Formed in 2001 in Utah, The Used is renowned for their powerful blend of post-hardcore and emo influences. The band's original lineup consisted of Bert McCracken (vocals), Quinn Allman (guitar), Jeph Howard (bass), and Branden Steineckert (drums). Their self-titled debut album, released in 2002, catapulted them into the limelight with hits like ‘The Taste of Ink,” “Buried Myself Alive” and “Blue and Yellow.”

Their sophomore album, “In Love and Death” (2004), continued their success with tracks such as “Take It Away” and “I Caught Fire.” Over the years, The Used has released several more albums, including “Lies for the Liars” (2007), “Artwork” (2009) and “Vulnerable” (2012). Despite lineup changes, The Used has maintained a loyal fanbase and remains a powerful force in the alternative rock scene.

Taking Back Sunday emerged from Long Island, New York, in 1999, and quickly became a cornerstone of the emo and post-hardcore genres. Their debut album, “Tell All Your Friends” (2002), is celebrated for its raw energy and memorable hooks, featuring standout tracks like “Cute Without the 'E' (Cut from the Team),” “You're So Last Summer” and “Timberwolves at New Jersey.”

Their subsequent albums, “Where You Want to Be” (2004) and “Louder Now” (2006), produced hits like “A Decade Under the Influence” and “MakeDamnSure,” solidifying their reputation as a major player in the alternative rock scene. Taking Back Sunday has consistently released new music and toured extensively, with albums like “New Again” (2009), “Happiness Is” (2014) and “Tidal Wave” (2016), continuing to resonate with fans old and new.
