RENO, Nev. (May 21, 2024) – The musical duo Black Violin will bring their BV20: Then & Now Tour to Grand Sierra Resort’s (GSR) acclaimed Grand Theatre on Thursday, Oct. 17, 2024 at 8 p.m.
Tickets for Black Violin at GSR go on sale Thursday, May 23 at 10 a.m. PT and start at $24.50, plus additional taxes and fees. Both Wil B (viola) and Kev Marcus (violin) began playing instruments at a young age and met while attending a performing arts high school in Florida. Their shared passion for music led them to experiment with combining classical techniques with contemporary styles, including hip-hop, R&B and rock.
The duo rose to prominence with their self-titled debut album in 2008, followed by “Classically Trained” (2012) and “Stereotypes” (2015), which reached the top of the Billboard Classical Crossover chart. Notable for their dynamic live shows, Black Violin has performed at prestigious venues such as the Kennedy Center, Apollo Theater and the Billboard Music Awards.
Beyond their musical mastery, Black Violin is committed to nurturing the next generation of musicians. They are the driving force behind the Black Violin Foundation, dedicated to providing equitable access to high-quality music education in underserved communities, exemplifying their ethos of using music as a catalyst for social change.
