Diana Ross is nothing short of an icon — her indisputable legacy has changed the course of music history and pop culture, inspiring and empowering countless musicians, artists, celebrities and young dreamers along the way. The Detroit native rose to fame as the lead singer of The Supremes, which became Motown's most successful act during the 1960s and the best-charting female group of all time with a total of 12 No.1 hit singles, including “Where Did Our Love Go,” “Baby Love” and “Come See About Me.”

In 1970, Ross embarked on a solo career in music and acting that would span decades and bring her innumerable accolades and honors. Her eponymous debut solo album featured the U.S. No. 1 hit "Ain't No Mountain High Enough,” which set the stage for a stream of other successful albums such as “Touch Me in the Morning” (1973), “Mahogany” (1975) and “Diana Ross” (1976). The superstar quickly became a mainstay on Billboard charts with singles like "Touch Me in the Morning." "Theme from Mahogany (Do You Know Where You're Going To)," "Upside Down,” "Endless Love, "Why Do Fools Fall in Love,” "Chain Reaction,” "If We Hold on Together" and "When You Tell Me That You Love Me.”

Her success extends beyond the music world — Ross was cast as the legendary jazz singer Billie Holiday in the classic film “Lady Sings the Blues,” which earned her a Golden Globe Award and an Academy Award nomination for best actress. As a stage actress, she won Broadway’s top honor with a Tony Award for her one-woman show, “An Evening with Diana Ross.” The same show was later broadcast as an award-winning network television special.

In 1993, she earned a Guinness World Record for her success in the United States and United Kingdom by having more hits than any other female artist on the charts with a career total of over 75 hit singles. In 2017, the American Music Awards presented Ross with the Lifetime Achievement Award. Additional career milestones include: Induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, The Songwriters Hall of Fame, National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences Hero Award, NAACP Entertainer Award, Billboard’s Female Entertainer of the Century Award and The Soul Train Legend Award. Ross is also one of the few celebrities to have two stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Her voice has produced 14 Top 10 albums, 18 No. 1 songs and over 100 million streams, downloads and sales around the world. Doors open at 7 p.m.
