Tedeschi Trucks Band is an American blues-rock group formed in 2010 by the husband-and-wife duo Susan Tedeschi, a powerful and soulful vocalist with a penchant for the blues, and Derek Trucks, a renowned slide guitarist and former member of The Allman Brothers Band. Led by Tedeschi and Trucks, the 12-piece ensemble features a lineup of accomplished musicians who skillfully blend elements of blues, rock, soul, jazz and country into their sound. Since their inception, the Tedeschi Trucks Band has toured almost non-stop, developing a reputation for dynamic live performances. Their debut studio album, “Revelator” (2011), earned a Grammy Award for Best Blues Album.
Subsequent releases included the live recording “Everybody's Talkin’” (2012) and the studio album “Made Up Mind” (2013), which scored Blues Music Awards nominations for the band in 2013. A notable moment in 2015 saw them pay tribute to Joe Cocker's “Mad Dogs and Englishmen” at the Lockn' Festival. The Tedeschi Trucks Band switched to Fantasy Records for their fourth studio album, “Let Me Get By” (2016), which debuted at No. 15 on the Billboard 200. In 2017, they released a live concert film and album, “Live from the Fox Oakland.” The band's subsequent studio album, “Signs” (2019), garnered critical acclaim and was celebrated as a “Favorite Blues Album” by AllMusic.
In 2021, they released “Layla Revisited (Live at LOCKN'),” a live recording of the Derek and the Dominos album performed in full with Trey Anastasio. Continuing their innovative approach, the Tedeschi Trucks Band announced the release of "I Am the Moon," a quadruple album featuring 24 original songs. Released in four parts throughout 2022, the album showcased the band's commitment to musical exploration and their ability to seamlessly blend genres.
The legendary rock group Little Feat will join the Tedeschi Trucks Band on the Grand Theatre stage. Brought together by Lowell George and Bill Payne in 1969, Little Feat unites California rock, funk, jazz, country and New Orleans swamp boogie into an eclectic blend that has transcended generations. The band’s career spans over fifty years and has produced classic tunes such as “Dixie Chicken,” “Oh Atlanta,” “Willin’,” “Let it Roll,” “Spanish Moon” and “Fat Man in the Bathtub.” Doors open at 6 p.m.
