RENO, Nev. (February 6, 2024) – The California-based regional Mexican group Marca MP will bring their Simplemente Marca Tour 2024 to Grand Sierra Resort’s (GSR) acclaimed Grand Theatre on Friday, Nov. 1, 2024 at 8 p.m.
Tickets for Marca MP at GSR go on sale Friday, Feb. 9 at 10 a.m. PT and start at $49, plus additional taxes and fees. Formed in 2018 by a quartet of high school friends, Marca MP initially included lead vocalist Pedro Vargas ("El Chato"), tuba player Esteban Salcedo, and guitarists Cristian Daniel and Jesús Tizoc. The group embraces elements of banda, mariachi and ranchera, creating a versatile yet familiar sound that has attracted a growing fan base. Their 2019 debut EP, “En Vivo,” featured the hit track “El Güero.” Mexico's Grupo Firme had played gigs with the band and decided to cut the track as a video single, inviting Marca MP to collaborate. “El Güero” went on to become the most watched online video in Mexico that year.
Since then, Marca MP has released five digital-only live albums and two studio recorded albums – the “No Me Quejo” LP and the critically acclaimed “Flores” EP. Guitarists Diógenes Bojórquez and Julio Torres have taken the place of Daniel and Tizoc, but despite the change in lineup, Marca MP continues to gain popularity in the regional Mexican music scene.
