RENO, Nev. (Nov. 8, 2023) – Grand Sierra Resort and Casino (GSR) has announced their support of the University of Nevada women’s basketball program via the “Friends of the Pack” Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) collective that creates opportunities for University of Nevada student-athletes to help grow their personal brand and engage within the community. This collaboration aims to unite the community around Nevada women’s basketball while laying the groundwork for future partnerships between GSR and the University of Nevada.
“We are absolutely thrilled to partner with many of the incredible athletes of the University of Nevada women’s basketball team,” said Christopher Abraham, Sr. Vice President of Marketing Sales & Entertainment at Grand Sierra Resort. “This partnership allows us to shine a spotlight on the amazing student-athletes and women’s basketball program throughout the season. We can’t wait to see how this partnership unfolds.”
GSR is in the process of creating content with the designated student-athletes for use in a variety of marketing programs that will reach the Reno-Tahoe community, improving exposure for the women’s basketball program and GSR alike.
The NIL deal follows the announcement of the historic $1 billion in private-capital improvements at the resort. At the heart of the plans is the construction of a new 10,000-seat, 300,000-square-foot arena with contemporary amenities, including suites and premium hospitality clubs that will serve as the home of the Wolf Pack men’s basketball team.
