Emerging from the seedy underground of Los Angeles in 1985, Jane’s Addiction ditched the polished sheen of glam rock and embraced a darker persona that fused metal, punk and psychedelia with shockingly raw lyricism. Despite its abrasive sound and aggressive attitude, the band achieved considerable mainstream success, paving the way for the alternative rock movement of the 1990s. In 1987, Jane’s Addiction unveiled its first release, a self-titled live album that showcased the band’s debaucherous nature and generated a seismic impact in the rock counterculture. After garnering the attention of Warner Bros. Records, Jane’s Addiction released two landmark studio albums, “Nothing's Shocking” (1988) and “Ritual de lo Habitual” (1990), which solidified the band’s cult status.

Frontman Perry Farrell designed the traveling rock festival Lollapalooza as a farewell tour for Jane's Addiction in 1991, which survives as one of the longest-running music festivals in the United States. From 1997 to 2008, the band dissolved and reunited several times, releasing its third studio album, “Strays,” in 2003. The band’s tumultuous internal struggles echoed the rhythmic and melodic tension that defined its subsequent release “Great Escape Artist” (2011). Over the years, the lineup has included rock royalty including Flea of Red Hot Chili Peppers, Martyn LeNoble of Porno for Pyros and Duff McKagan of Guns N' Roses. After a twelve-year absence, bassist Eric Avery rejoined the current lineup of charismatic vocalist Perry Farrell, guitarist Dave Navarro and drummer Stephen Perkins ahead of a joint tour with Smashing Pumpkins. Regardless of the lineup, Jane’s Addiction continues to occupy a pivotal space in the alternative rock scene. Doors open at 7 p.m.
