RENO, Nev. (Jan. 13, 2023) – Celebrate Valentine’s Day early at LEX Nightclub on Saturday, Feb. 11with an evening of nonstop R&B and hip-hop action featuring East Oakland’s own Adrian Marcel and special guests LoveRance and Rayven Justice. The Bay Area powerhouses will also be joined by Romeo Reyes, who is set to deliver a high-energy DJ set. Tickets go on sale Friday, Jan. 13 at 2 p.m. and start at $20, plus additional taxes and fees. Doors open at 10 p.m.
Emerging from East Oakland, Adrian Marcel has proven to be a cornerstone in the landscape of modern R&B with his sultry vocals and raw, emotional vulnerability. Under the tutelage of his mentor, Grammy Award-winning R&B singer Raphael Saadiq, Marcel developed a following thanks to a steady string of projects in the mid-2010s, which featured musical assists from major acts like Destiny’s Child alumna Kelly Rowland and rappers Wale and Too $hort. His debut mixtape, 2013’s “7 Days Of WEAK,” was released under Universal Republic Records, and featured production by the J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, Beatroc and more. Marcel went on to collaborate with Sage the Gemini for his first platinum-selling single “2 AM” followed by his rap-sung single “Take Your Time,” which landed on Billboard’s Rhythmic Songs chart for 10 weeks in 2015. The R&B sensation demonstrated his artistic versatility with his first album “#GMFU – Got Me F%^&ed Up” and the 2019 follow-up “98TH.” His latest melody-driven singles, "I Gotchu" and "In My Bag," feature the expressive lyricism and energetic production that have come to define the “unapologetically Oakland” artist.
Joining Marcel at LEX Nightclub will be fellow Bay Area artists LoveRance and Rayven Justice. From his humble beginnings as a local DJ and party promoter, LoveRance has skyrocketed into international fame following the release of his 2011 single “Up!,” which entered the Top 100 of Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. Recognized for his laid-back Southern rapping style, the Interscope Records artist plans to make big moves in 2023.
Influenced by the hip-hop culture of both Oakland and Atlanta, Rayven Justice has made waves in the music industry with his melodic sound and nuanced storytelling. Initially a self-supported underground artist, Justice signed with Ice King label in 2012 and released his debut album “Both Sides of the Tracks” with fellow rapper Kafani. He went to start his own label, releasing a string of studio projects including “I Have a Dream” and “Do It Justice,” the latter of which featured the celebrated slow jam “Between Your Thighs.”
