Daniel Whitney, known professionally as Larry the Cable Guy, is a multi-platinum recording artist, Grammy nominee, Billboard award winner and one of the top comedians in the country. The Nebraska native initially performed standup comedy under his real name but achieved stardom after developing his Larry the Cable Guy persona – a stereotypical redneck character armed with a thick southern drawl and snappy blue-collar witticisms. His approachable style and signature catchphrase “Git-R-Done”captivated audiences in rural America and eventually caught the attention of the nationally syndicated radio program “The Ron and Ron Show.”
In 2000, Larry joined the Blue Collar Comedy Tour alongside Jeff Foxworthy and Bill Engval – the tour grossed more than 15 million dollars and led to the production of Comedy Central’s “Blue Collar Comedy Tour, The Movie” in 2003. The movie received the highest ratings in the channel’s history at the time and prompted the sequel “Blue Collar Comedy Tour Rides Again” and “Blue Collar Comedy Tour, One for the Road,” which scored a Grammy nomination for Best Comedy Album. His first comedy album release “Lord, I Apologize” reached gold status and topped the Billboard Comedy Charts for 15 weeks in a row. The comedian also dominated charts with the Grammy-nominated “The Right to Bare Arms'' followed by his 2007 release “Morning Constitutions.”
Despite his unassuming stage presence, Larry’s list of accomplishments is nothing short of impressive. In addition to his wildly successful comedy career, Larry is also an actor, a New York Times bestselling author and founder of the non-profit organization Git-R-Done Foundation, which champions children and veterans. Doors open at 7 p.m.
