He channels the straightforward truth-telling and resonance of his songwriting heroes in Townes Van Zandt, Guy Clark, and Steve Earle into something fresh and distinctly his own. His songs are cathartic and bluntly honest, never mincing words or dancing around uncomfortable truths.
