Lone Star Cowboy
Texas singer-songwriter Aaron Watson will be bringing his heartfelt honky-tonk sound to Reno's Grand Theatre.
Born in Amarillo, TX, Watson's earliest musical influences were the gospel hymns he sang in church with his family and the classic country records by George Jones, Merle Haggard, and Willie Nelson his folks played around the house. Throughout a 17-year career that spans a dozen albums and more than 2,500 shows throughout the U.S. and Europe, Watson has stubbornly and sincerely identified with the everyman, describing himself as an 'anti-rock star.' He says, “People don’t like me because I’m a rock star. People like me because I’m just like them.” His songs, delivered with a warm smile and fueled by a wild spirit, echoes the land that helped make him.
