These events, along with art fairs, performing arts, and live music will be part of the month-long celebration of the arts in Reno, known as Artown. Kicking off on June 30, with an opening night jubilee and ending on July 31, the event offers one of the most comprehensive arts festival in the United States, according to the the National Endowment for the Arts.
Held since 1996, Artown in Reno features over 500 multidisciplinary events including music, dance, theater, visual arts, workshops, art walks and much more—and a majority of these events are free to the public. Artown brings the highest caliber of artists to Reno while elevating local talent. Experience fun for the whole family, and celebrate all the arts have to offer.
One of the most popular downtown Reno events is the Summer Soiree Under the Stars, which are ticketed performances featuring major national talent like Neko Case, k.d. Lang, Laura Veirs, and Rosanne Cash with John Leventhal.
Other popular events include the Monday Night Music Series, held at the beautiful Robert Z. Hawkins Amphitheater, and Dancing in the Park, held at Wingfield Park in downtown Reno. Both are free of charge.
