Renowned jazz pianist Diana Krall to perform at GSR as part of her “Wallflower World Tour”

Reno, Nev.Five-time Grammy Award-winning jazz pianist and world-renowned singer Diana Krall will bring her “Wallflower World Tour” to Grand Sierra Resort and Casino (GSR) this summer. The 26-city tour includes stops at some of the most prestigious venues across the country including The Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, Davies Symphony Hall in San Francisco and The Beacon Theater in New York. Krall’s latest tour is in support of her stunning new album Wallflower, which was released on Verve Records earlier this year. Krall will make her inaugural Reno performance in the world famous Grand Theatre on Saturday, Aug. 15. Produced by 16-time Grammy® Award-winning producer David Foster, Wallflower finds Krall breaking new ground with her interpretations of some of the greatest pop songs of all time. The album features popular classics from the late 60's to present day that inspired Krall in her early years, as well as an unreleased composition from Paul McCartney ("If I Take You Home Tonight").
The “Wallflower World Tour” will feature Krall performing pop classics such as The Mamas and the Papas' "California Dreaming" and the Eagles' "Desperado," and Bob Dylan’s “Wallflower,” which inspired the album's title track, among others. Krall will be accompanied on the Grand Theatre’s infamous by Anthony Wilson (guitar), Dennis Crouch (bass), Stuart Duncan (fiddle), Karriem Riggins (drums) and Patrick Warren (Keyboards).
Last year, Diana Krall headlined The Montreal International Jazz Festival performing to over 100,000 of her most loyal fans. Diana Krall is the only jazz singer to have eight albums debut at the top of the Billboard Jazz Albums chart. To date, she has won five Grammy® Awards, eight Juno® Awards and has also earned nine gold, three platinum and seven multi-platinum albums. Her unique artistry transcends any single musical style and has made her one of the most recognizable artists of our time.
The Grand Theatre, which is undergoing a $10 million renovation, will be one of the top entertainment venues in the West with a capacity of more than 2,700 including well-appointed luxury seats with more legroom, wider seats and wider aisles. In addition, exclusive VIP booths with personalized beverage and bottle service will be available for small groups and special occasions. Designed by John Sergio Fisher & Associates, the theatre will also include a two-tiered entry with an all-new, enclosed lobby, state-of-the-art lighting and sound renovations, as well as new artist facilities including dressing rooms, green rooms and an artist lounge.
