Reno, Nev.Cantina, Grand Sierra Resort and Casino’s (GSR) premier Mexican restaurant, is excited to host its first Blue Agave Social, an event which will pair traditional Mexican cuisine with select Patron tequilas including Patron Extra and Patron Gran Burdeos, as well as Roca Patron tequilas. Patron’s brand manager Davin Homan will be on hand to answer any questions that may arise. The social will take place in the sports bar on Saturday, Feb. 4 from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tickets and reservations for this delicious and unforgettable evening are on sale now and are $75, all inclusive. Davin Homan is the state manager for Nevada and Hawaii for The Patron Spirits Company. Homan has worked in the tequila industry for five years and over eight years in the hospitality industry. Homan has also traveled throughout Mexico and visited numerous tequila distilleries making him excited to share his passion and excitement for the agave industry.

For one night, Cantina Chef Roberto Martinez will present fine Mexican cuisine that will be carefully paired with select Patron tequilas. Martinez will showcase a series of small plate stations which includes a green mole pork belly, a watermelon glazed King salmon and a 7-minute, jalapeno infused egg. Martinez will also prepare a slow poached lobster and Filet Mignon surf and turf with a sophisticated chocolate taco among other specially made dishes.

The Cantina, which recently welcomed Executive Chef Roberto Martinez and introduced a new menu, offers more than 100 varieties of tequila, fresh guacamole prepared tableside and the most traditional and authentic Mexican cuisine in Reno.
