Reno, Nev. – The region’s premier resort destination, Grand Sierra Resort and Casino (GSR), is excited to announce the recent addition of industry veteran Shannon Keel as the property’s general manager. Keel joins GSR’s team of more than 2,000 dedicated and passionate team members and brings more than 16 years of experience to the property. As general manager, Keel will oversee the operations of the entire casino resort and continue to ensure the property’s history of fantastic customer service.

“We are incredibly excited to have Shannon join our team as general manager and to continue to grow the property as a premier destination for guests,” said Alex Meruelo, owner of GSR. “Shannon has an incredibly impressive resume, working with casino resorts from across the country and believes in the spirit of teamwork, a trait that we admire at GSR.”

Keel earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Marketing with an emphasis in Hospitality Food Service and Hotel Management from California State University, Long Beach. Throughout her impressive career, she was the Casino Services Manager at the Hyatt Regency in Lake Tahoe, vice president and general manager of Golden Mardi Gras in Colorado and, most recently, CEO and general manager of Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Resort in New York. Throughout her tenure, she also received the 2017 Top 40 under 40 award as an emerging leader in gaming and was a scholarship recipient of Global Gaming Women.
